Athletic Association
The University of Georgia conducts a broad program of intercollegiate athletics which includes 19 sports (11 women, 8
men). The University is a member of the Southeastern Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and
abides strictly by the regulations and policies of these groups. The Board of Directors of the Athletic Association,
composed of faculty, alumni, and student representation with the president of the University as Chairman, has general control
of internal policies of the University relating to all phases of intercollegiate athletics.
