The research and design phase of the Institute for Leadership Advancement’s service-learning project component for Leonard Leadership Scholars. The curriculum will focus on how to manage a change initiative within a non-profit organization. Topics will include qualitative research, benchmarking, project management, and problem solving.

Examines leadership in business organizations. It covers how organizational leaders guide, support, influence, and meet the needs of their followers. Topics include developing employees, increasing engagement, leading teams, leveraging diversity, and building and changing corporate cultures. Students will apply the knowledge and skills they learn through service-learning projects.

Leadership in the Global Marketplace

Exploration of the various aspects of business leadership on a global level through a study abroad trip. Specifically, students will study leadership principles from a global perspective and then apply them to solve real-world problems and issues through a class project.

Inclusive Leadership

This course focuses on addressing the issues associated with leading with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in mind. We will incorporate a broad survey of theory, research, and practice on DEI topics. Self-assessment, case analyses, experiential exercises, and discussions are used to develop the personal and interpersonal skills needed to lead diverse teams in the global work environment. Topics will include self-awareness, understanding differences, group dynamics, and conflict management. Service-learning projects will also be a part of this class.
