Description:
The first half of a year-long survey of the history of art, this course introduces honors students to the diverse artistic production before 1600 through a selection of monuments from early cave paintings, antiquity (Egypt, Near East, Greece, and Rome), Byzantium, medieval and renaissance Europe, and Asia.
