Description:
Field studies to explore issues of sustainable development in predominantly urban (but also including rural and wildland interface) areas. The course focuses on issues of human- environment connections, including climate change, energy and resourced consumption, environmental conservation and preservation, and sustainable planning through service learning, personal development and leadership.

Nontraditional Format:Course includes a service-learning project during the semester that either employs skills or knowledge learned in the course or teaches new skills or knowledge related to course objectives.
