Course Title:Issues in Animal Agriculture
Course
Description:
Provides knowledge, understanding, and critical analytical skills on current issues in production animal agriculture in diverse regional, national, and global socio-cultural and political environments. Explores impacts of livestock production on society and the environment, animal products in the human diet, ecological aspects of animal production, animal welfare, and media relations.

Nontraditional Format:This course will be taught 95% or more online. This course is one of the few animal science-based courses that easily lends itself to online delivery. The core of the course will remain the same with predominant lecture material delivered via narrated powerpoints converted to movies. The discussion portion of the course will utilize the basic University of Georgia course delivery platform and discussion options within the system (i.e., the Discussion Forum in ELC-new). The use of contemporary BLOG will aid in additional discussions under a less formal setting. Aside from emails and phone calls, students will have the opportunity to directly interact with the instructor through weekly online meetings via a web conferencing program.
