Description:
An examination of major changes in political and social structures affecting Scotland from the Scottish Reformation to the present. Topics include the Kirk (church), the monarchy, the Acts of Union, the Jacobite Rebellions, and the Scottish Enlightenment. Emphasis on Scottish nationalism and the identity of the Scottish people as well as the contributions Scots have made to the modern world.
