Course Title: | Essential Computing Skills for Biologists |
Course Description: | The most essential computing skills for modern biologists, such
as MySQL, R, and AWK, as well as how to access and use High
Performance Computer clusters and construct reusable data
analysis workflows in RCC and the Galaxy system. Emphasis will be
on hands-on work on computer work and problem solving. |

Course Objectives: | Students interested in a Bioinformatics career will learn
several basic computing, design and analysis skills that will
prepare them for future bioinformatics courses and research.
By the end of the course, students should have mastered key
design and computing concepts for basic tools and approaches
used in bioinformatics. |
