|Course Title:||QTL Mapping and Discovery|
|The principles and procedures underlying the establishment of
marker-based linkage maps and their application in the
establishment of marker-trait associations.|
|Oasis Title:||QTL ANALYSIS|
|Offered spring semester every even-numbered year. |
|Grading System:||A-F (Traditional)|
This course introduces graduate students to the concept and
methodologies used in genetic mapping and the dissection of
complex traits. By the end of the course, students should be
(1) Define quantitative trait loci.
(2) Select genetic populations suitable for a QTL analysis.
(3) Understand basic genotypic and phenotypic data organization
(4) Construct a genetic map.
(5) Perform QTL analyses.
(6) Apply QTL results to facilitate marker-assisted breeding.
