Course Objectives: | Demonstrate knowledge of the historical roots of African/Black psychology; Understand the ways in which historical narratives (past and recent) have influenced psychological experiences of African-descent people; Develop a working understanding of theories, concepts, and scholarship associated with African/Black Psychology; Conceptualize and critically examine issues impacting people of African descent using an African/Black psychological perspective; Identify and explore strategies for using African/Black psychology perspectives as relevant to learner's training and professional pursuits |
