Course Objectives: | This course is designed to give students an in-depth
understanding of the cultural, economic, and regulatory
complexities of the international/transnational media
industries. Students expand their understanding of Hollywood as
a global industry, but the focus of the course is
international/transnational entertainment media industries. By
the end of the semester, students will:
1) Understand media production and financing as a transnational
project.
2) Have a working comprehension of how key policies and business
have changed and shaped the global media industries.
3) Identify the key global media markets and contemporary
players.
4) Examine how media producers market to multiple global
audiences. |
