| Course Objectives: | 1. Students will be able to explain and discuss the benefits and
risks of applying prescribed fire as a management tool in
forests of the southeastern coastal plain
2. Students will have the ability to assess weather and site
conditions to evaluate potential fire behavior and effects
3. Students will be able to discuss the fundamental ecological
effects of fire on forest plants, animals, soils
4. Under the guidance of a competent practitioner, students will
