Course Objectives: | 1. Understand central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structure of the program area
taught and create meaningful learning experiences for students.
2. Understand how students differ in their approaches to learning; develop
instructional opportunities appropriate for diverse learners and diverse learning
styles.
3. Understand and use a variety of instructional strategies.
4. Use effective communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration,
and interaction.
5. Plan instruction based on knowledge of subject matter, students, the community,
and curriculum goals.
6. Understand and use formal and informal assessment strategies.
7. Reflect on teaching as a means of planning for continuing professional growth and
development.
