experiences during the student teaching experience. In this process, students will
engage in reflection as a means of assessing professional development. Specifically,
students will 1. analyze their teaching practices and present their organized
instructional units as a compiled body of information, 2. consider, discuss, and
analyze relevant and opposing views of teaching and learning as they are presented in
seminars, 3. communicate with other preservice teachers and professional teachers in
the context of analyzing and fine-tuning their use of teaching strategies and preparing
for their professional careers as art teachers. |
Topical Outline: | Regularly scheduled seminars are held on campus and via WebCT and focus on topics
central to the student teaching experience. Students prepare formal instructional
units for both student teaching placements at the elementary and secondary levels. |
