Course Description: | Examination of the ways in which environmental controversies
and issues at the institutional, federal, state, and local
levels develop, or fail to develop, into statute and policy.
Governmental and regulatory structures and functions will also
be discussed. |

Course Objectives: | Participants will learn about major environmental issues such as
land use, water quality and quantity, energy and climate change,
air quality, international drivers of environmental policy, and
environmental economics; how the laws and policies that address
these issues were developed; and how those are likely to change.
Participants will also study and practice the challenges of
communicating science to policy makers. |
