| Course Objectives: | Acquire working knowledge of the central issues debated in
modern (19th and 20th century) German culture. Discuss the
status of "culture" and its relation to literature, history,
film, art. Develop concepts and vocabulary for the scholarly
investigation of culturally significant texts and images. |
