Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to present an overview of Italian culture in a given historical period or periods. The reading of select relevant literary texts of the period(s) will be complemented by the study of representative works of art and sociopolitical readings. By the end of the course, the student will have developed effective methods of analysis and an awareness of critical tools available for further study of Italian culture. Students will read extensively in the fore mentioned areas, participate in classroom discussions, and write essays on topics related to those areas. |
