Students will be able to read primary texts in epistemology and to interpret and analyze the positions and arguments in these texts. Students will be able to use research tools to access the literature in epistemology. These abilities will be demonstrated through class presentations, exams, short analytic papers, and longer research papers.
There is no set topic for this course. Any advanced topic in epistemology may be covered, for example: I. Foundationalism vs. coherentism II. Natural epistemology III. Feminist epistemology IV. Social epistemology V. Epistemic logic
