Course Description: | Designed to increase students' knowledge of the way culture,
diversity, and ethnicity are associated with human thoughts,
feelings, and behaviors. Topics include multiculturalism,
stereotypes, prejudice, intercultural communication,
acculturation, and race. |

Course Objectives: | Culture, diversity, and ethnicity are associated with human
thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In this course, we cover a
range of topics that include multiculturalism, stereotypes,
prejudice, intercultural communication, acculturation, and race.
A large portion of this class consists of class discussions. In
order to facilitate class discussion, prior to “class
discussion” days, each student is assigned to submit a list of 3
to 5 discussion points about a particular reading. In order to
facilitate discussion, specific discussion points that students
submit are read within the class. |
