V. Social Sciences (9 hours)

  • Students who have not met the Georgia and U.S. Constitution requirement by examination should enroll in POLS 1101.
  • A passing grade on an examination on the history of the United States and Georgia is required to satisfy the United States and Georgia History Requirement for all persons receiving a baccalaureate degree from the University, unless exempted by one of the following courses: HIST 2111, HIST 2112. Examinations are given to freshmen during orientation and twice each semester by the History Department. Reexamination is permitted. Examination dates are announced in the Schedule of Classes.

Students in the Franklin College must earn a grade of "C" (2.0) or better in major required courses.

LACS TRACK - 27 hours

Choose nine (9) upper division courses from at least twoof the three (3) Tracks listed below. ( 27 hours minimum). Courses selected from the main concentrations track must represent at least two different departments. At least two of the nine courses must come from a second track.

Flexibility and innovation in program design will be encouraged. Course offerings within each track are not limited to the listings below. The list is meant to be a guide, but each student should consult with their academic and/or faculty advisor for courses tailored to the individual track. Some upper division courses have prerequisites that must be met; such courses may count towards general electives credits.
