(A passing grade on an examination on the history of the United States and Georgia is required to satisfy the United States and Georgia History Requirement for all persons receiving a baccalaureate degree from the University, unless exempted by one of the following courses: HIST 2111, HIST 2112. Entrance Requirements
Completion of Core Areas A, C, D, and E. Completion of Core Areas A, D, and Area E with a minimum overall GPA of 2.8. Documentation of career goals. Academic advising for the intended Consumer Journalism major takes place in the Housing and Consumer Economics Department. This is a high demand major. After meeting the entrance requirements, students will be selected based on the following high-demand selection criteria.

  • Overall GPA of 2.8 or better in Core Areas A, D, and E
  • Essay that states career goals

    A baccalaureate degree program must require at least 21 semester hours of upper division courses in the major field and at least 39 semester hours of upper division work overall.
