Minor - Child and Family Development

Program Description: A minor in Child and Family Development will provide a knowledge base for persons intrested in individuals and families throughout the life cycle.

REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM OF 2.5 CUMULATIVE GPA REQUIRED TO DECLARE MINOR.
Must earn at least a "C" grade (2.0) in each minor course.
A minor must contain at least 9 hours of upper division course work.
Courses taken to satisfy Core Areas A through E cannot be counted as course work in the minor.
Courses taken in Core Area F may be counted as course work in the minor.
Courses taken for a minor cannot count in a major required area.
All prerequisites must be met for the courses.

STEPS TO OBTAIN A MINOR:

DECLARE THE MINOR: Obtain a Declaration of Minor Form in Student Services (210 Dawson Hall). Have the completed form checked and signed by the Student Services staff. Once approved, take the completed form to your school/college that you are enrolled in.
FILL OUT THE MINOR COMPLETION FORM: After completing all minor requirements, contact Student Services (210 Dawson Hall) to complete the Minor Completion Form. GRADES MUST BE EARNED AND RECORDED ON YOUR UGA RECORD BEFORE COMPLETING THIS FORM.

Students who minor in Child and Family Development are advised by their major advisor, not the CFD advisor. Completion of the minor is dependent upon class availability. Instructors are not obligated to override enrollment capacity for a declared minor.

^*AFTER COMPLETING ALL REQUIREMENTS, it is the students' responsibility to contact Student Services (210 Dawson Hall). In order to complete the Minor Completion Form, GRADES MUST BE EARNED AND RECORDED ON STUDENT RECORD.
