The Georgia Center for Continuing Education provides a wide range of innovative lifelong learning opportunities that develop intellectual and human potential. One of the major functions of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education is to offer credit and non-credit continuing education programs on campus and throughout the state. The Center draws on the full resources of the University, working closely with the faculty and participating groups.

On campus, the Georgia Center’s facilities include two auditoriums (375 and 600 seats), 18 conference rooms and five executive boardrooms, a state-of-the-art computer lab, two restaurants, a ball room, spacious banquet facilities, a full-service hotel featuring 200 well-appointed guest rooms and suites, and exhibit space. The Center also provides a variety of support services for continuing education and the service function of the University of Georgia. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

The Georgia Center for Continuing Education provides both credit and non-credit learning opportunities for adults and youth seeking to expand their personal and professional horizons. Courses are available in a wide variety of subjects and in numerous delivery formats, including online, face-to-face, and print. Courses are offered at times conducive to non-traditional learners and are held at the Georgia Center in Athens, the UGA Gwinnett Campus, and at off-campus locations and corporate sites.

Professional and Personal Development

The Professional and Personal Development department provides a variety of non-credit programs targeted toward enhancing professional workplace skills, enriching personal interests, and engaging youth. CEU-granting certificate programs, workshops, and courses are available in a variety of formats, in either open-enrollment classes or customized training to fit the needs of organizations and individuals. Courses are available in classroom settings, online, and at industry sites. Professional development offerings include: grant writing, project management, computer training, real estate pre-licensing, teacher education, turfgrass management, paralegal studies, Spanish/English medical interpretation, medical coding, phlebotomy tech, home health aide, clinical pharmacokinetics, market research, executive coaching, and more. Personal development offerings include: foreign languages, studio arts, photography, creative writing, test preparation (LSAT, GRE, GMAT and SAT), and summer youth camps. Conference and Event Planning

Office of Academic Special Programs

The Office of Academic Special Programs (OASP) provides a variety of educational experiences for pre-collegiate students throughout the state of Georgia. The aim of the unit is to provide challenging intellectual opportunities for students seeking to expand their understanding on a variety of topics. The programs currently featured by OASP are the Georgia Science & Engineering Fair, the Georgia Junior Science & Humanities Symposium, the District I History Day, and the Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute. The office also serves as the host for the annual American Regions Math League competition.
