Course Objectives: | The class explores labor market behavior in both a theoretical and an empirical
setting. Basic microeconomic tools are used to develop an understanding of the two
sides of the labor market - workers and firms/employers. The model is then extended
to consider the response of the labor market to various forces including minimum wage
legislation, immigration policies, education and training of workers, and unions. |
