Course ID: | EMBA 7100. 3 hours. |
Course Title: | Analytical Tools for Decision Making |
Course Description: | This course is designed to enhance the analytical skills of
business managers who must make decisions based on quantitative
data, in particular in environments characterized by significant
uncertainty. Topics of study include sampling, estimation and
inference, regression, simulation, decision analysis, and
constrained optimization. |
Oasis Title: | Decision Making |
Duplicate Credit: | Not open to students with credit in EMBA 7100E |
Semester Course Offered: | Offered fall semester every year. |
Grading System: | A-F (Traditional) |
|
Course Objectives: | The purpose of the course is to develop the knowledge and skill
set required to generate and interpret the output associated
with a broad range of analytical techniques. For each technique
considered, students will recognize the types of problems for
which the method is appropriate, identify the information
required in order to implement the method, make
organizationally-relevant decisions based on the associated
output, and recommend additional data collection or analyses
that will aid in decision-making. |
