Course Title: | International Forest Management |
Course Description: | Study-abroad to examine issues pertaining to the management of
forested landscapes in the visited country. Introductory
lectures on the natural and cultural history of the visited
country will be followed by extended field examination of the
country's forest resources and their management. |

Course Objectives: | The major goal is to provide students with an opportunity to
examine how forestry management is conducted in other
countries. The first offering will be in Australia.
Other goals include:
1. To expose UGA students to a range of land management
issues unique to the country being visited;
2. To provide an experience of how forestry is taught in
another country;
3. To provide UGA students with an opportunity to interact
with students at universities in another country;
4. Allow UGA students to experience a range of landscapes /
forest types unique to the visited country; and
5. To learn about forestry-related research being conducted
in the visited country. |
