seeking internships, employment, and/or graduate education in

Course Objectives: | 1. Explore the variety of helping and human services in the
human development and family science profession
2. Examine and identify the workings and functions of a human
development and family science related agency, organization, or
healthcare setting
3. Develop professional documents, including resumes, online
profiles, cover letters, and related documents
4. Assess internship, job and career requirements, outlooks,
and projections for future internships, employment, and
professional decision making
5. Plan, establish, and complete their applied internships in
agencies and institutions serving individuals and families
6. Identify skills, traits, and competencies that build
professional success and workplace environments
7. Identify methods of professional communication and skills
associated with working in teams
8. Identify and implement the ethics and legal considerations
when working and conducting research with individuals and
families
9. Examine professional documents (case files, grants, annual
