Course Objectives: | Course Objectives:
This course examines the nature and process of organizational change
in our contemporary business environment. Organizational change encompasses
myriad individual, group, organization, industry/inter-organization, and
economy level factors. The focus will be on individual (i.e., personality),
group (i.e., size), and organization (i.e., age, culture) level variables and
change dynamics.
Discussion, case analysis, decision-making simulations, and experiential exercises
will be used to involve the class in the complex issues of managing organization
change and development in a turbulent environment. In addition, emphasis will be
placed on the development of your critical thinking, communication, and teamwork
skills.
Please note that each class has required reading assignments. The readings are
to be completed for discussion on the day that they are assigned. Class
discussion will focus on and use this material. Please be prepared to discuss
the readings for each class and to critique and compare the readings. |
