Course Objectives: | Course Objectives:
1. To develop a global perspective with regards to the
international business environment, with particular
emphasis on culture, business-government relations,
strategy, corporate social responsibility, and ethics.
2. To explore the subject of strategy, strategic thinking,
and global organization, to include a consideration
of strategic planning, formulation and implementation
of global business strategies, and designing effective
organizations.
3. To investigate, examine, and evaluate the challenges
inherent in spanning borders during cross-cultural
management. In the process, we will consider the
socio-cultural dimensions of international management
and intercultural communications/negotiations.
4. To gain knowledge of the challenges inherent in human
resource management (HRM) in the global context, to
include a consideration of international labor relations
and managing HRM decisions and activities.
5. To examine and delve into the leadership dimension of
management as it relates to motivating and leading in a
multicultural/global context.
6. Through case analyses and presentations, to develop a
more sophisticated understanding of the global business
milieu and managing in an international setting. |
