Course Description: | a review of research on the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation
constructs that tend to serve as independent and mediating
variables in organizational behavior research. Such constructs
explain the direction, intensity, and persistence of employee
effort on the job. A review of methodological and theoretical
issues relevant to motivational constructs. |

Course Objectives: | Overall, the objective of this course is to prepare students
to conduct research in the areas of work motivation. In
particular, the primary objectives of the course are:
1. Introduce students to the relevant research literature,
including exposure to both classic and contemporary texts.
2. Help students learn to understand, evaluate, and interpret
the conceptual and methodological aspects of motivation research.
3. Develop the skills necessary to publish in and review for
top-tier journals. |
