Course Description: | Aspects of project management with regard to leadership,
managerial processes, and tools essential to successful project
completion. Service-learning project includes application of
skills and knowledge learned in the course. Hands-on project
resulting in the conceptualization, design, prototyping, and
development of a software system for an external/internal
client. |

Course Objectives: | 1. Understand the basic concepts and techniques for managing
projects.
2. Understand specific problems and issues in managing IS
development projects.
3. Recognize problems involving communicating with clients,
team management, project scope containment, delays, and cost
overruns.
4. Develop skills in leading, managing, and controlling
projects.
5. Apply these techniques and perspectives to a real-world
project within which students use the skills and knowledge
learned in the course. |
