measures of central tendency and dispersion, and crosstabs. Also
includes an introduction to probability theory, probability
distributions, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing.
Statistical software and discussion of political science data
sources will also be covered. |

| Course Objectives: | This course reviews some of the mathematical fundamentals students will need for more
advanced political methodology courses. Students will learn the fundamentals of
probability theory and apply it in the context of confidence intervals and hypothesis
testing. The course will also cover the practical use of statistical software and
sources for political science data. |
