Course Title: | Real Estate Investment Analysis |
Course Description: | Designed for graduate students with an interest in real estate
decision making, and more specifically in analyzing an equity
investment in commercial real estate. Students will learn about
space and asset markets, investment returns, discount and cap
rates, cash flows, debt leverage and income taxes. These core
competencies will be used to develop models of actual investment
properties. |

Course Objectives: | 1. Students will learn how to analyze an investment
opportunity, including the technical aspects that impact the
performance and risk of the investment.
2. Students will gain an understanding of how real estate
fits into an investment portfolio.
3. Through class projects, students will have the opportunity
to develop their skills working with others on teams with
common goals.
4. Students will enhance their skills in critical and
quantitative thinking as well as their ability to write a
persuasive and convincing document. |
