Course Objectives: | This course is an advanced study of commercial liability insurance and risk
management. It will cover the major liability exposures faced by
organizations as well as methods of treating these exposures, with an emphasis on
insurance approaches. Areas covered include general liability, auto, marine and
aircraft liability, professional liability, directors and officers liability, and
pollution liability, among others. While the emphasis is on analyzing insurance
coverages, noninsurance risk management techniques will also be discussed.
For all students, the objective of the course is to gain a thorough understanding
of commercial liability insurance and risk management. An additional objective is to
prepare interested students to take and pass the CPCU 4 exam in June. |
