Course Objectives: | Rmin 5530 is a course that conducts an extensive study of commercial property risk
management and insurance. All types of commercial property loss exposures are
identified, as are all types of commercial property losses. The emphasis is on
insurance loss control and loss retention as the primary means of managing
commercial property risks.
The textbook is Commercial Property Insurance and Risk Management by Trupin and
Flitner, 6th edition. It is the most comprehensive and advanced text on the subject
matter that is commercially available. The text consists of two volumes and has 15
chapters. The course covers all 15 chapters. That means that students must study 50
