Course Objectives: | This course will help students be able to: (1) identify and
evaluate sources of retirement income, (2) explain the differ-
ences between defined benefit and defined contribution retirement
plans, (3) understand life expectancy, risk tolerance, Social
Security eligibility and their relationship to retirement plann-
ing (4) explain the tax implications of various types of retire-
ment plans (5) solve time value of money problems related to
retirement planning, (6) understand the importance and different
types of employee benefits, and (7) select benefit plans based on
the needs of employer and employees. |
