Description of the Program
The Certificate in Financial Technology (FinTech) was designed to teach students the latest trends and topics in information systems, business process management, cyber security, and legal issues relevant to the financial services industry.
Entrance Requirements
The certificate program is open to all currently enrolled undergraduate students at the University. Administration of the selection process for admission will be the responsibility of faculty identified by the unit head. In the event that student demand exceeds the number of seats available in the required courses, the application may serve as a selection tool, and a GPA cut-off may be implemented. The certificate requires 12 course hours with a minimum grade of C in those courses. Students are expected to simultaneously satisfy the requirements of the certificate while completing their degree requirements. If courses listed below are used to satisfy degree requirements, they may also be used to satisfy certificate requirements. Twelve hours must be completed as resident credit. Program Requirements
The Financial Technology (FinTech) Certificate consists of four three-hour courses (12 credit hours):
*Substitutions for MIST 4803 can be approved by the department in situations where deemed necessary. The substitution must be related to the goals of the FinTech Certificate and should only be offered in very unique situations.
Application Process
