Course Objectives
This course is part of a continuous experiential education series that must be completed by all traditional Pharm.D. students. The entire series consists of nine courses (PHRM 5901 - PHRM 5909) of which students must complete eight. In each of these courses, students will satisfy the following objectives in various pharmacy practice situations: (1) Demonstate mature and professional attitudes, habits, values and behaviors. (2) Demonstate effective communication skills, in verbal and written form, to health care practitioners, patients, or other associated parties. (3) Describe the mission, goals, and objectives of the organization to which he/she is assigned and its role in the health care delivery system. (4) Describe the services provided to the public and/or other applicable audience or clients. (5) Demonstrate an understanding of the pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy of the most common acute and chronic disease states encountered in the assigned setting. (6) Participate in and demonstrate an understanding of basic administrative and/or clinical activities within the assigned setting. (7) Demonstrate the ability to utilize drug information resources, critically evaluate information, and apply knowledge to solve problems. (8) Construct an organized, comprehensive oral presentation related to a health care topic pertinent to your assigned setting. The student will be evaluated by using the UGA College of Pharmacy evaluation form that students receive prior to beginning this phase of their education.
