Textiles, Merchandising and Interiors Internship


Course Description

Supervised work experience in textiles, clothing, interiors, and furnishings in a business firm off campus.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students are required to write a comprehensive analysis of the organization in which they intern. In addition, the student is expected to demonstrate how the internship is useful to the student's completion of the Master's thesis or the Ph.D. dissertation.

Non-Traditional Format

To earn 6 credit hours, students must work 300 internship hours during the summer. This averages 30 hours per week for 10 weeks.


Prerequisite

(TXMI 5900 or TXMI 5901) and permission of department

Course Objectives

1. To have "hands-on" experiences in professional areas. 2. To provide realistic views of careers and interpersonal relationships between supervisors, co-workers and clients.
