Course Objectives

A concentrated study of the major developments in modern art since the late nineteenth century. Students will gain greater familiarity with the oeuvre of major artists, and the extent that their works define or reflect significant movements. Continuing the introductory work of ARHI2100, emphasis will be placed on the historic contexts-- political, intellectual, social--of the art covered.
