Course Description
The contemporary secondary and collegiate mathematics curriculum, with an emphasis on data handling, modeling, infinite processes, stochastic processes, and discrete mathematics.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will do additional, more challenging problems
each week and are expected to demonstrate more mathematical
maturity in their solutions by connecting ideas and solution
strategies. Graduate students' work is graded on a more
stringent scale.

Students enrolled in this course will * explore a variety of contemporary mathematical topics suitable for high school students and challenging for college students. * discuss how these topics might be introduced to high school mathematics students and how they might be used to meet NCTM Standards 2000. * examine the use of technology in introducing and exploring contemporary topics. * present to the class new contemporary mathematics topics suitable for high school students.
