Technical Field Theory


Course Description

Achievement in technical theory associated with occupational fields evaluated through National Occupational Competency Testing Institute or official scores submitted from a health care credential agency. Technological studies students are administered written examination to determine competence. Credit recommended by comparing scores with national norms.

Course Objectives

1. Describe safety practices and standards in occupational settings. 2. Apply correct terminology to tools, machines, equipment, materials, and processes. 3. Demonstrate an understanding of the various types of tools, machines, equipment, materials, and processes used in a specific technical field. 4. Apply knowledge of various processes and services in a specified technical field. 5. Demonstrate an understanding of design and modeling in the development of manufactured and/or constructed products and structures. 6. Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics. 7. Perform mathematical calculations and solve measurement conversion problems. 8. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and problem solve technical equipment. 9. Demonstrate a knowledge of machine and equipment maintenance and repair.
