Course Description

Development, execution, and summarization of a clinical research study in cooperation with a food animal production company, pharmaceutical company, biologics company, diagnostic laboratory, or animal regulatory agency.

Non-Traditional Format

This course and Food Animal Production Medicine Externship are inherently linked. During the externship, students will split time between the "externship" activity and completing an applied research study. Note that the applied research study will have value to the externship provider.

Course Objectives

Students will design, document, develop, conduct, and prepare a formal oral and written reports of a clinical research trial.


Topical Outline

The character of the study will be case dependent. Students will work under the guidance of the faculty and agri-collaborator sponsors in each phase of the project. Students will design, document, develop, conduct, and prepare a formal oral and written reports of a clinical research trial.
