Course Objectives

Students increase their cultural literacy by investigating cultural behavior within the societal and historical context of German-speaking countries. Students will be evaluated on the basis of in-class discussions and oral presentations, and in-class exams.

Higher education in Germany: Recent reforms and repercussions 5. Mass media in Germany: trends and issues 6. The German cinema: historical background and recent developments 7.
