Advanced Studies in Journalism


Course Description

Independent study or special projects in journalism for majors in journalism. Written proposal outlining the work to be undertaken must be submitted and receive the instructor's approval before the student will be permitted to register for the course. Students will be responsible for ensuring the funding of their projects.

Course Objectives

Provide opportunity for students to work independently under the direction of a professor on advanced studies not available through regular classes. Depending on the topic chosen for advanced study, the course could contribute on any or several of the educational outcomes in the department's assessment plan.


Topical Outline

Student and professor directing the independent study would agree on an outline for a specific course project before the student would be permitted to register.
