Students will be able to describe the purpose of evaluation for health promotion, health behavior, and public health interventions.
Students will be able to describe the major characteristic of health promotion and public health policy, and select appropriate evaluation objectives.
Students will be able to define the role of stakeholders, decision-makers, and target populations in the needs assessment process.
Students will be able to describe methods for monitoring program coverage, reach, and fidelity of implementation.
Students will be able to identify appropriate strategies for health-related interventions as they related to primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.
Students will be able to identify various evaluation designs, their characteristics, strengths, and limitations.
Students will be able to choose appropriate data collection methods (qualitative and quantitative) for health-related outcomes.
Students will be able to identify strengths and offer constructive criticism on a health promotion program evaluation proposal.
Students will be able to choose appropriate statistical methods to assess behavioral health and other health outcomes.
Students will be able to identify key issues related to the evaluation of health behavior programs targeting high risk and underserved populations.
Students will be able to identify human subject issues, budget requirements, and write a complete proposal for an evaluation of health promotion program.
