Student Learning Outcomes
Students will compare and contrast gender, race, and class differences in morbidity, mortality, and the prevalence of chronic conditions.
Students will investigate specific health concerns of the birth experience, discuss issues surrounding high-risk pregnancies, and examine the health effects and outcomes of reproductive technologies associated with infertility.
Students will discuss issues surrounding the health concerns of women across the lifespan (adolescence - elderly).
Students will identify symptoms and discuss treatment options for reproductive system disorders, disorders of the breasts, nutritional disorders, and illnesses common to women (diabetes, systemic lupus, erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis).
