Course Description
Field experiences in secondary classrooms and community
settings. The field experiences illustrate curriculum planning,
implementation, and assessment for teaching secondary social
studies. There is a companion seminar course.

Plan and teach appropriate social studies lessons to secondary students.
Connect concepts from Planning and Teaching for Equity-Orientated Social Studies Classrooms with their experiences in classrooms through analytic and reflective thought and practice.
Communicate and collaborate with colleagues, school personnel, and university mentors in a professional manner.

Two 5-week field placements in local school classrooms.
