Course Description
This course is designed to provide students with a variety of learning experiences in the field of disability through completion of prescribed activities in areas of research, directed readings, product development, and/or service learning under the supervision of the instructor.

This is an independent study with one-on-one supervision for each student with individualized project in applied setting. Scheduled meetings with instructor to discuss progress of projects.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the students will: (1) develop an awareness of general disability issues through a variety of activities, including selected readings, research, seminars, and topical discussions with instructor. (2) Gain an in-depth understanding of a specific issue related to disability through focused study and activities. (3) Develop an awareness of disability issues as they relate specifically to the students' chosen fields of study.
Topical Outline
(1) Each student will complete a minimum of 120 hours of specified fieldwork, research, training, or service project at IHDD or other community setting. Weekly topical discussions and on-site visits will be held with the instructor. (2) A major product will be completed reflecting the activities performed during the course.
