Seminars on Women's Studies and Gender


Course Description

This course will expose students to current research in women's and gender studies by requiring them to attend seminars sponsored or approved by the Women's Studies Program.

Non-Traditional Format

One hour seminar. Students may take this course in conjunction with their enrollment in a 3-credit women's studies class. Students are required to attend eight seminars and to write eight response papers for one credit hour.

Course Objectives

(1) To expose students to current interdisciplinary research in women's and gender studies (2) To supplement and enrich students' learning in their 3-credit courses (3) To compel students, through graded written assignments, to relate the knowledge they acquire from these seminars to their personal lives and to the ideas they learn in 3-credit classes .
