Upon completion of this course, the successful student will be able to analyze and compose music using secondary dominant seventh functions.
Upon completion, the successful student will be able to analyze and compose music using modulation.

Upon completion, the successful student will be able to analyze and compose music using Neapolitan 6th and augmented sixth chords.
Upon completion, the successful student will be able to identify patterns in simple musical excerpts using roman numerals and appropriate non-harmonic tone designation, drawing on all prior musical instruction including knowledge being learned in other courses such as applied music and class piano, leading to appropriate interpretation of the data.
